I am a visual artist and a teacher. I have an MFA in painting from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and I have been teaching art in public and private schools and community art centers for over 20 years.
I have been working on interactive public art and facilitating collaborative community art-making projects for 12 years.
I try to balance teaching, community art-making and my own personal ‘studio’ practice.
I believe in creatively experiencing life, and feel compelled to make things as a way of understanding myself, my ‘story’, the people I’m privileged to be connected to, and the amazing places I find myself in.
My hope is that the art that comes out of all this will be meaningful to others.
Hey Jane
Hooray hooray
It’s wonderful to see you putting all of this together!
Big love to you,
and Merry Christmas

Jane,
How wonderful that your talent and interests have come together. And I remember when you were not so techno-savy. Good luck with the Art Garden.

Jane, I’ve got some boxes full of ceramic pieces my wife collected that she meant to use for mosaic work. Interested? We’re in Ashfield.

This is so cool Jane! I can’t wait to get up there to see it and do it…You have created an ever-expanding opportunity to play and I think it is just great!
Your talents shine so brightly!
What a blessing to be able to bring together your passion, your love, while giving your community a place to come and freely explore their artisitic side in a wonderful open community setting!
Mommy would be beaming with pride! I know!
I love the website and I can’t wait to visit next time we can come up for a visit! Love you – wishing you much success 🙂
I am not surprised by the wonderful things you are doing. When I first met you, it was quite obvious that your openess to exploration to new ideas, and the natural creativity that you bring to the art field is not confined by tradition.
I watched her go from a computer neophyte, to having her students use digital cameras to capture textures they see in the world, then incorporating the images into computer activities with her students to create incredibly creative works of art!
Good luck – the area is lucky to have you!
Dan
